The course provides students with the academic skills and language that are necessary for university study. It is appropriate for students of all disciplines. The English Academic Course develops language and critical thinking skills essential in academic contexts. Both intermediate and advanced levels introduce students to the characterisitics of written and spoken academic texts.
The DVD used in the course is linked to the lecture skills units. It includes real lectures from the University of Cambridge by lecturers in their fields. Moreover, the students are able to experience authentic practice in listening to lectures and note-taking. The Class Audio CD gives students listening practice and strategies to participate in tutorials and group work.
